Today would have found me at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC as one of the volunteers chosen to place roses on the headstones of our fallen military heroes. With that opportunity cancelled, I honored our heroes here at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake! It was an absolute honor to pay tribute to several military heroes here locally!! #neverforget #militaryheroes #arlingtonnationalcemetery #memorialflowerassociation

For 32 years I have come to this exact same spot on Memorial Day weekend to visit my Mothers gravesite and this year it appeared more beautiful than I have ever seen it before! My Mom was always proud of her manicured green grass and beautiful flowers in her yard so I am sure she is up there in Heaven giving the grounds keepers here at Holy Cross Cemetery a big smile and thumbs up for her beautiful surroundings!! #32years #holycrosscemetery #neverforgotten

This is the start of National Police Week to remember all of the Law Enforcement Officers lost in the line of duty and to honor all of those who continue to serve and protect. Last year I had the privilege of attending National Police Week in Washington DC and attended all of the memorials and ceremonies. The Candlelight Vigil with 25,000 other supporters on the National Mall was an experience I will never forget! The uncertainty of our life with COVID 19 reminds me so much of how I felt when I was handed my cancer diagnosis 10 years ago! Cancer didn’t bring me to my knees, it brought me to my feet, and I am rediscovering the same strength right now to challenge this new way of life! Cancer required me to be strong and I hope for a stronger and brighter future for everyone!! #hope4all #cancerwarriornetwork #warriormarathonrunner

Our situation we are dealing with right now with the Coronavirus reminds me of how I felt 10 years ago when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The uncertainty and the fear of something out of my control was unsettling, but I chose to Rise Up everyday, Rise Up and be unafraid, just like I had done a thousands times before. We need to Rise Up and be supportive of one another to get through this. Everyday at my work I have seen amazing people, doing amazing things in spite of the fear and ache of what is going on around us!
