It was a powerful feeling being there in the shadow of legendary Coach Kay Yow’s statue at North Carolina State University this week! When I walked inside and out onto the floor I could hear her powerful words echoing in the empty arena over the sound of the bouncing basketballs telling me....Don’t Give Up, Don’t Ever Give Up!! Right there on that sacred court I realized that I survived for a reason and I am going to be alright!!! I need to continue to inspire as many people as I possibly can!

What an incredible opportunity to be here at Reynolds Coliseum on the campus of North Carolina State University and home to the Lady Wolfpack!! It was such an honor to walk out onto the court of the legendary Coach Kay Yow! She coached right up to losing her battle to breast cancer 10 years ago and lived by their school motto...The Strength of the Pack is the Wolf!!! Go Wolfpack!!!

Visited my Centennial Trail medallion in Riverfront Park before they are all pulled up and relocated to a new bridge project near Gonzaga! It reads “Carol Dellinger Loves to Run 26.2”. I feel very proud to have completed that distance 314 times!! I look forward to seeing it in a new location next year!

My athletic career started as a college basketball player and my journey has given me the opportunity to reconnect with the sport. This basketball season I will be connecting with several women’s college programs around the country sharing my inspiring story. This week it was finalized to take my inspiration all the way to the 2020 Women’s Final Four Championships in New Orleans on April 3-5th! My personal road to the Final Four begins next week.....

It has been an incredible journey the last 10 years and I could not have done it without the support of my friends and this amazing surgical oncologist Dr Stephanie Moline from Cancer Care Northwest! Until you have been told you have the big C word, it is hard to describe what it feels like to be a survivor!! I am forever grateful to this woman!!

In my 30 years of running marathons I never qualified or had the opportunity to run in the Boston Marathon. While I am in Boston this weekend I came to stand on this famous marathon finish line to see what I had missed after crossing 314 other marathon finish lines!!! A little bitter sweet moment today!!!

Beautiful morning for the Great Pumpkin Run 5K here in Boston along the Charles River and Back Bay!!! What a fun finisher medal to receive and I didn’t have to run 26.2 miles to earn it!! I am loving this retirement from long distance races!!
